The Dime is the signature restaurant located inside the Renaissance Allentown Hotel, serving elevated American cuisine in the heart of downtown Allentown. Connected directly to PPL Center and overlooking Center Square at Seventh and Hamilton Streets, The Dime is a gathering place for hotel guests, local residents, eventgoers, and the broader Lehigh Valley community.
Rooted in seasonality, regional sourcing, and thoughtful execution, The Dime offers a full culinary program spanning breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night dining, alongside a full-service bar and versatile private event spaces. Whether stopping in for a business breakfast, a pre-concert dinner, or a private celebration, guests can expect a refined yet approachable dining experience.
The kitchen is led by Nick Vogel, Director of Culinary and Restaurant Operations. A Philadelphia native, Vogel was raised in his family’s restaurant and built his career working across nearly every role in the industry before refining his craft in acclaimed kitchens nationwide.
His background includes serving as Executive Chef at Alta Strada in Washington, D.C., founded by James Beard Award–winning Chef Michael Schlow, as well as Regional Area Executive Chef for EHP Hospitality, overseeing multiple restaurant concepts. Previously, Vogel led the culinary program at Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor, New York, where his “dock-to-dish” approach and partnerships with local farmers and fishermen became a defining hallmark.
At The Dime, Vogel brings a philosophy centered on seasonality, quality sourcing, and letting great ingredients speak for themselves.
The Dime’s culinary direction focuses on elevated American cuisine that highlights fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and seasonal creativity. Menus evolve throughout the year, with four seasonal menus designed to reflect what’s freshest and most compelling at any given time—while still maintaining signature favorites guests can enjoy year-round.
Dishes balance classic technique with modern influences, drawing inspiration from regional farms and purveyors across the Lehigh Valley and nearby Lancaster County. The result is a menu that feels both contemporary and grounded, equally suited for everyday dining and special occasions.
The Dime features a refreshed interior designed by The Society, a nationally recognized hospitality design firm. The space offers approximately 65 seats across the dining room, bar, lounge, and cocktail reception areas—creating a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere.
For private events, the restaurant offers two private dining rooms accommodating up to 20 and 40 guests, along with a larger event space seating up to 96 guests. These flexible venues make The Dime an ideal destination for corporate gatherings, social celebrations, and pre- or post-event dining tied to nearby arena events.
Opened in 2015, The Dime is named in honor of the historic Dime Bank Building, which is incorporated into the hotel and restaurant. With two-story ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Center Square, the space blends historic character with modern design—reflecting Allentown’s past while embracing its continued revitalization.
Located on the third floor of the Renaissance Allentown Hotel at 12 North Seventh Street, The Dime welcomes guests for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night dining.
